Shaun Ihejetoh

BArch (Hons), DipArch. ARB RIBA

Managing Director / Architect

Shaun is a chartered architect and a registered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He has gained a comprehensive amount of experience working on the smallest of urban interventions to large scale masterplans. With an array of technical skills, he is someone readily able to transfer his abilities to suit the changing demands of any given project.

Shaun studied Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art and The University of Edinburgh, attaining his Part III at London Metropolitan University. Shaun worked at Farrells for 3 years as a Visualiser and Architect before setting up West Port Architects in 2016 with Khalifa Abubakar and Colin Cheng.

As Managing Director, Shaun has helped nurture sustained growth at the practice, winning new and exciting commissions and seeing through the design and delivery of several small-scale refurbishments and extensions. He has also been at the helm of the company’s larger projects and planning consents. Under Shaun's leadership, we have been awarded RIBA Practice of the Month (March 2019), been shortlisted for several competitions and are steadily expanding the team to accommodate the new work.

Shaun holds a strong interest in architectural history and the broadening of both the educational and professional routes into architectural and design practice. American born and of Nigerian decent, Shaun has lived and worked in many areas of London and has first-hand awareness of the varying trends of development across the city. It is his lived experience of the city, including his time spent studying and working in Sweden and Germany, respectively, that fuels his desire to see from the perspective of those less-equipped to influence the physical make-up of their neighbourhood. All of these things drives his and West Port's passion to expand the architectural discourse to those outside the architectural bubble.
