West Port has been commissioned to create a side infill extension to a Victorian house in Hither Green, Lewisham. The existing house is a mid-terraced property, with an outrigger room at the rear. The existing outrigger kitchen is narrow, with an even narrower unused external side passage.

The brief for the project is all about bringing daylight and a sense of openness to the ground floor spaces. Our clients are keen to create a vibrant, open sequence of spaces, which are perfect for entertaining and for family life. Externally, reclaimed bricks will be playfully arranged and punctuated by bursts of colour to compliment the internal palette which will feature warm timber tones, green hues and the couple’s much loved pink porcelain tiles.

The project is currently at RIBA Stage 4, with construction programmed to commence in 2024.
