Though dynamic and fluid in nature, at its core, this project is about the delivery of much needed affordable housing and the preservation of commercial floorspace. The scheme is to be Southwark Council’s flagship development. It is set to deliver up to 500 new homes, at least 50% of which will be council homes, as well as over 3,000 sqm of Class E space. West Port’s focus is the podium floor uses (ground to third floors) across the two plots that make up the site. The brief for these currently consists of a mixture of retail and light industrial units, workshops, community spaces and residential apartments.
