Shaun Ihejetoh

BArch (Hons), DipArch. ARB RIBA

Co-founder (Director)

Shaun is a chartered architect and a registered member of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). He has a comprehensive amount of experience working on the smallest urban interventions to large scale masterplans. With an array of technical skills, he is readily able to meet the demands of any given project.

Shaun studied Architecture at the Edinburgh College of Art and The University of Edinburgh, attaining his Part III at the London Metropolitan University. Prior to setting up West Port in 2016 with Khalifa Abubakar and Colin Cheng, he was an architect at multinational practice Farrells.

As Managing Director of West Port, Shaun has helped nurture sustained growth at the practice, winning new and exciting commissions and seeing through the design and delivery of small-scale refurbishments and extensions. He has also been at the helm of the studio’s larger projects and planning consents. Under Shaun's direction, West Port has been featured in several design publications, shortlisted on and won architectural bids and competitions.

Shaun holds a strong interest in architectural history and the broadening of both the educational and professional routes into architectural practice. American born and of Nigerian decent, he has lived and worked in many areas of London and has first-hand awareness of the varying trends of development across the city. It is his lived experience of the capital, including his time spent studying and working in Sweden and Germany, respectively, that fuels his desire to see from the perspective of those less-equipped and less-addressed in shaping their neighbourhoods, towns and cities. All of this drive his and West Port's passion to expand the architectural discourse to those outside the traditional architectural bubble.
