OUR STORY

We are a small, close-knit architectural practice established in 2016 by Colin Cheng, Khalifa Abubakar and Shaun Ihejetoh. Base in northwest London, our studio has a catalogue of including residential, public sector, cultural and urban realm projects.

Our design approach is not anchored to a particular house style. Instead, we search for architectural inspiration in our client’s uniqueness and that of the existing built context of a project’s locale. This means we take time to understand the history of the place as well as its modern day framework. In doing this we can deliver timeless architecture of personal significance to its owners while at the same time being in harmony with its surroundings.

Our ethos is built upon the belief that for architecture to truly improve the quality of our environment it must respect nature, better utilise co-design principles and push to broaden its audience. These agendas underpin all our designs, communications and outreach efforts. As a young and diverse team, we are all too aware of the need for architecture to do more in inviting, representing and involving all members of society in its activities.

Outside our mainstay architectural work, we tutor, teach, and participate in architecture and design panels. Between our staff, we currently sit on the architecture Design Review boards for Camden, Lambeth, Barking & Dagenham and Ealing Borough councils. Our studio provides mentorship for students at the Royal College of Art and for primary and secondary school pupils via the RIBA Learning Centre, along with being a University of Westminster EDI Practice Advocate.
