Project A Black Planet

Exhibition Design

2025-Ongoing

West Port have been appointed by the Barbican Centre for the exhibition design of a major new exhibition exploring Pan-Africanism and its influence on art and design. The Project a Black Planet exhibition traces the profound influence of Pan-Africanism on global culture from the 1920s to today, showcasing a massive collection of over 300 works, including paintings, journals, and film. While Pan-Africanism is traditionally viewed through the lens of political resistance and anti-colonial solidarity, Project a Black Planet is the first major survey to center the critical role of artists in designing these transnational visions. The show opens in the summer of 2026 at the Barbcaicn Centre.
